ABOUT
Open Learning TV is a free-to-air television station (UHF Channel 17) operating in Belmopan City with the second largest real-time coverage in the country.
We have a far reaching audience especially in the rural areas of Belize District where cable does not reach, like the villages in the entire Belize River Valley and southern Orange Walk District. We have even gotton viewer feedback from the island of San Pedro during our premier live show "Whats Happening".
We also capture audiences who do not have cable in Belmopan City, Roaring Creek, Valley of Peace, Cotton Tree, St. Matthews, Mahogany Heights, San Martin, Las Flores, Ladyville, San Hill and Hattieville.
Apart from this, we are on the major cable networks throughout Belize, extending our coverage to cable viewers from Benque to Belize City straight down to Punta Gorda!
whats happening
Whats Happening, hosted by 2 of the most gorgeous females on local television, has become the most popular interactive family show Belizean TV. Audiences from across the country tune in to Open Learning TV every Thursday night at 8PM for various forms of musical entertainment in a unique style.
The first and third Thursday of each month is called Bashment Thursday. This episode features 2 Video DJs or VJs who spin and mix music video for the viewers as they send in their musical requests and dedications via phone calls or texting. Bashment Thursday is specially designed for a younger audience as here we feature contemporary reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and latin music videos from both home and abroad.
The second Thursday of the month is called Grown Folks Thursday, and it is dedicated to a more adult audience. During this particular show the viewers are entertained with grown folks music by a local singer, Mr. Mellow Madness. He has a wide selection of oldies music to really get the audience in a romantic mood with his sweet melodious voice.
Then on the last Thursday, we present Inspirational Thursday. This show features a very popular gospel artist known as Uncle Fem. He plays a very mean guitar and sometimes brings guest singers to accompany him on a frequent basis. Tune in every Thursday from 8PM to 10PM to find out Whats Happening only on Open Learning TV. There is also a rebroadcast on Sunday Morning at 10AM and Tuesday Morning at 9AM.
local vibes
Local Vibes is a music video segment inserted into Open Learning TV schedule to highlight the works and progress of our Belizean Artists from both home and abroad.
This segment comes daily, from Monday to Friday.
There is a half hour segment from 11AM to 11:30AM and in the evenings there a dedicated 1 hour segment from 5PM to 6PM.

lifestyle dynamics
Lifestyle Dynamics is a purely informative and educational 1 hour presentation hosted by Mr. Tom True.
It focuses on Health Principles, Family Values Business Principles and Relationship Insights. It also makes reference to the “Natural Remedies Encyclopedia”, the book with most every answer to health possible.
It is aired on Monday nights at 8:00PM. There is also a rebroadcast on Wednesday at 9AM on Sundays at 9AM.
